Perseverance

It's extremely difficult to make any positive change in your life without strong perseverance.  Another way to define perseverance is hope.  When you set a goal, small or large and you aren't seeing the results as quickly as you'd like, you need to persevere.

Sometimes, instead of seeing results, you actually experience set backs.  However, if you have set a goal that's important to you, this is when you need to have hope and hang in there.

You may need to ask yourself if you need more time to get to where you are going.  It's OK to give yourself an extension on the goals that are important to you.

It's also important to look at your internal results.  We are very programmed to measure everything by external manifestation.  Try looking to see if any of the goals that you are setting are happening within yourself.  Take some baby steps on changing the feelings within to get to where you are going.

Most importantly, when you aren't getting the results that you want or things aren't coming to you as quickly as you'd like, remember the journey.  This is the most crucial part of perseverance.  Getting to where you are going is the fun part if you pay attention to the internal cues.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about.  I was at the beach today and I saw an ecstatically happy little girl.  She was building something that required water.  So she preceded to run down to the shore line with her bucket.  She was pretty small so it took her a while to get down to the water.  Yet, she giggled the whole way down and the whole way back, even while half of the water was coming out of the bucket.  It never occurred to her that her "project" wasn't getting done because she was having such a good time doing it.

The next time your progress seems far away, think about the journey, enjoy it and persevere.

Testimonials

"I met Renee at a very intense business seminar where she taught exercise and relaxation.  I really felt awful that morning from information overload and she literally took a bad headache away from me.  She is truly fabulous at what she does.  She had a soothing effect on me that I had not experienced before.
