Enjoy Failure

Enjoy Failure

I wish you the ability to enjoy your failures.  Yes, we really do learn from our failures.  First, what is a failure?  I believe it is when we perform a series of actions (based on many different motivations) in order to achieve a goal.  A goal could be material or romantic or a variety of things.  When we don't achieve our goal, we think that we have failed.

There are 2 elements here, the series of actions and the goal.  The actual goal is our expectation(s).  If we focus on the actions and everything involved in taking the actions (from original thought to actual action) then there is no failure.  If we provide for a variety of goals, or, even better, get rid of the goals, then failure will fail to exist.

I realize that this may be difficult to understand.  However, your life will be much more enjoyable and fulfilling if you can manage this. Usually, we embark on a project with a goal in mind.  That goal is often material.  There's nothing wrong with having material goals, but when we don't achieve them, it can be very disapointing.  The way you can truly avoid this disapointment is by immersing yourself in the steps that you are taking to get there and enjoy this immersion.

If you are immersing yourself in joy then it is hard to fail, even if the material goal doesn't materialize immediately.  This is more then just looking at things as a learning experience.  It's recognizing the experience you are having and the people and tasks that go with it.

Another option, if you really need a goal is to make your goals about emotional or spiritual growth.  See all of the roles you are playing while getting there and acknowledge yourself in all of them.  This will make your life truly rich.

Testimonials

"I met Renee at a very intense business seminar where she taught exercise and relaxation.  I really felt awful that morning from information overload and she literally took a bad headache away from me.  She is truly fabulous at what she does.  She had a soothing effect on me that I had not experienced before.
